Rangel Walks Out of Ethics Hearing

By Douglas V. Gibbs

During the Ethics Panel Hearing against Charles Rangel, the Democrat walked out of his own hearing claiming he had no adequate counsel. The hearing proceeded anyway.

The House ethics committee said during the hearing that the facts presented by a prosecutor accusing Mr. Rangel of violating Congressional rules were not in dispute and that the congressman himself had not refuted the 13 charges against him.
