During the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis President John F. Kennedy took very seriously the placement of missiles that can reach the United States, and took action to attempt to eliminate the threat. Now, Iran has placed missiles in Venezuela, capable of reaching U.S. cities, and U.S. allies in South America, and Obama could care less.
As a nation, we are only as strong as our weakest point. A perfect storm of complacency and overconfidence is setting us up for an unspeakable disaster. Iran has recognized our exposed underbelly, and Ahmadinejad is taking advantage of it - Hugo Chavez is happy to oblige.
In America, we are so occupied with the liberal left's assault on capitalism, and the birth of Marxist style socialism, that we are hardly equipped to do anything about the growing threat. The battle for America has left us weakened, and unwilling to recognize the dangers around us. The shadow of the growing Islamic empire is spreading around the world, and America is one of the targets for destruction.
All is well, we are told. America is unsinkable, and Islam is not what some people fear. Yet, as we are told this, American Muslims are going abroad to be trained in the art of terror, and Iran is seeking nuclear weapons as she places a military base with missile systems in our neck of the world. Israel has little or no warning time should Iran complete the task of building a nuclear weapon, and decide to use it on the small Jewish nation. The Obama administration has deluded itself into believing that diplomacy alone will persuade Iran to give up its nuclear program, and keep them from sharing the technology with terrorist factions. The only way to prevent a nuclear attack is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and instead, the Obama administration is literally stepping aside as Iran sets up missile capabilities in the Western Hemisphere.
Reports of Iran's readiness varies, but the fact is Iran is moving in the direction of war. The Nazis of this age have proclaimed their hate of Christians and Jews, have declared the United States as being the Great Satan, and are teaching their children (as did Adolf Hitler's youth camps) to hate us while these children are at a young age. The Muslims dress their young children in military apparel and give them toy guns as they all shout in unison, "Death to America, Death to Israel."
The liberal progressives deny the hate to be true, and dismiss the potential for war by the Islamists. Such denial was present in England in 1935 regarding Hitler's Nazi Germany. Perhaps the liberals are fearful. Perhaps they realize that if they admit there is a threat, they would have to do something about it. Perhaps they are simply fools. Or perhaps there is more than meets the eye.
Like England when they offered Hitler a portion of Czechoslovakia in the hopes of appeasing Germany, today's Neville Chamberlains of the world are offering land for peace in the form of the Palestinian territories. As with Hitler, the offer will do no good. Such appeasement proves to the enemy that in the end, you fear them, and blood thirsty barbarians such as those that populate Islam see that as weakness. They laugh at our ignorance. The goal of Islam has not changed. They mean to wipe Israel off the map, destroy America, and dominate the world.
Iran is an Islamic Republic, and Islam is an ideology of death. Any ideology that calls itself a religion while trying to force its own law on the world through a method of sending its children to kill the infidel is hardly a religion. Islam not only condones violence and death, the ideology commands it of its followers.
In Islam, children are pawns, women have no rights, and to die killing the enemy is a sure ticket to paradise. The ideology of Islam cannot be contained, or appeased. The ideology can only be stopped by force. As horrible as that may sound, it is the unfortunate truth.
Lebanon should be a stern reminder of what we are up against. Lebanon was once a dominantly Christian nation. In the hope of being tolerant, and multicultural, Lebanon allowed Muslims to pray in their mosques, to build as many mosques as they desired, and even allowed the Muslims to broadcast their call for prayer from speakers high above the cities. What was going on inside those mosques, however, were not church services as the Muslims claimed. The message of the day was hatred of Christians and Jews.
Eventually, the Muslims reached a point in Lebanon where they were the majority, and from that point on, Lebanon ceased being anything other than a Muslim nation poised to kill all those that stood in her way.
The Islamic population bomb has exploded, and as the influence of Muslim populations increase, these fanatics demand more rights in the host governments. They are demanding more representation. They are demanding that Sharia become the law of the land.
Now, the Islamic mission has advanced to the point that Iran is placing a military base complete with Missiles just south of the United States in Venezuela. The decision to place medium-range missiles on Venezuelan soil was reached in an agreement between Venezuela and Iran during the last visit of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Tehran on October 19, 2010. A contract providing for the establishment of a jointly operated military base in Venezuela, and the joint development of ground-to-ground missiles, was signed.
The Iranian missile placement in Venezuela is being seen as a counter-move to NATO's plan to develop a Missile Defence capability to protect NATO's populations and territories in Europe against ballistic missile attacks from eastern countries like Iran.
The Iranian military base in Venezuela that has been agreed upon allows Iran to include on that base Iranian missile officers, soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Venezuelan missile officers. Iran's missiles are being advertised as an emergency measure for Venezuela. The agreement also enables Iran to help Venezuela in rocket technology expertise, including intensive training of officers.
The move by Iran to place armaments in Venezuela allows Ahmadinejad to bypass United Nations sanctions. Russia, for example, decided not to sell five battalions of S-300PMU-1 air defense systems to Iran. These weapons, along with a number of other weapons, were part of a deal, signed in 2007, worth $800 million. Now that these weapons cannot be delivered to Iran as per the U.N. sanctions, Russia is looking for new customers, like Venezuela. Enter, stage left, Iran, into the unholy trio.
In other words, if Iran cannot get their missiles directly from Russia, it can still have them through its proxy, Venezuela, and deploy them against its second most hated enemy (second only to Israel), the United States of America.
Also, Reuters is reporting that Iran has developed a version of the Russian S-300 missile and will test-fire it soon. Iran, it turns out, has its own capabilities for constructing missiles that could carry atomic warheads. Iran is presently aiming to perfect the already existing solid-fuel, medium-range missile that can carry a nuke to hit regional targets, such as Israel. A missile base in Venezuela places U.S. cities directly at risk, even with short-medium range missiles.
The Obama administration has currently taken no actions, and the enemy doesn't expect them to. Obama has revealed his weakness through his determination to resolve everything through diplomacy, regardless of the actions of the enemy. His weakness to the enemy is a green light. They are moving forward, without even the slightest fear of the United States retaliating. This means that there will be no accomplishments through diplomacy. Iran and Venezuela doesn't need to cooperate. They hold all of the straws, and the enemy has no intention of shaking hands with the United States.
