American Liberals seem to forget that when you begin fingerpointing, three other fingers are pointing back at you. The same goes with the Left's accusations that the shooting of Democrat Representative from Arizona Gabrielle Giffords was somehow the fault of political debate, specifically debate performed by those on the right side of the political spectrum.
After blaming Palin, Glenn Beck, and the Tea Party, the leftist Democrats failed to reveal that one of the Daily KOS' daily writers, Tucson resident in Giffords' district, BoyBlue, had written a post only two days before the shooting titled "My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!"
After yesterday's Tucson shooting that left six dead, and Giffords clinging to life, the main-extreme media pointed blame at the political rhetoric of the day, claiming that the political divide "incited" this violence against elected officials.
Sarah Palin was one of the names thrown around as being partially to blame because she published a "target map" on her website using images of crosshairs to identify the districts of 20 House Democrats up for election in last year's mid-terms, a list of Democrats that included Arizona's own Giffords. Never mind the fact that gun-sights and bull's eyes are often used in the political debate, and are an accepted part of the graphical lexicon when it comes to politics. Even liberal shows like "Cross-fire" on CNN have used this kind of verbiage and imagery in political conversation.
Interestingly, the inflammatory words of President Barack Obama ("If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun." -- Barack Obama, June 14, 2008; "I want you to argue with them and get in their face." -- Barack Obama, September 17, 2008; "We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us. . ." -- Barack Obama, October 25, 2010) was conveniently forgotten.
The founder of the Daily Kos joined in the criticism against Sarah Palin, tweeting early yesterday, "Mission accomplished, Sarah Palin," with a link to Palin's map.
No mention, of course, that Moulitsas himself has also posted a "target list," and on his he also identified Giffords as a "target." In a 2008 Daily Kos post, Moulitsas listed Giffords as one of dozens of representatives with "a bull's-eye on their district" for being a "bad apple" Democrat.
Giffords, for most liberals, is way too conservative to be a Democrat.
Of course, BoyBlue was not the shooter, nor is anyone suggesting he was a part of the planning of this shooting. That is not the point of bringing up his "now dead to me" remark. It is just interesting how in the wake of this incredible tragedy the liberals searched for anything they could construe as being a threat by the Right, despite the fact that they were nothing of the sort, while ignoring specific references to death and violence by the Left.
The post, by the way, with the "now dead to me" statement, has been scrubbed from Daily KOS, an admission that it was in poor taste, and should very well be a part of the debate over poorly orchestrated political rhetoric.
BoyBlue posted an "apology" post, nonetheless, where he has a few choice words for the "rightwing," and where he twice states that he suspects the shooting is instead best blamed on supporters of Giffords' opponent in the 2010 mid-terms, Republican Jesse Kelly - despite the fact that the shooter, Jared Loughner, was a hard left loon.
BoyBlue concluded: "I would bet my house that it will come out that some disgruntled former Jesse Kelly right-wing supporters did this."
Don't bet your house, BoyBlue, we don't need another homeless man that is dependent upon the government for his next meal.
Liberals are collectivists. Of course they think a group is at fault. And in their minds, the group that is always at fault is the group that isn't them.
