Last November in Denair, California, Cody Alicea was told that he could no longer ride his bike with an American flag on the back. He flew the flag in order to honor his grandfather's service in World War II, and to be patriotic. School officials, however, saw the flying of the American Flag on the back of his bike differently, concluding that the flag is disruptive, and that flying the flag could cause "racial tensions."
Cody is still flying the flag, and now he has an escort:
