Robert Gibbs Planning To Say, "Bye Bye"

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The White House mouth, errr, uh, press secretary, and the closest member of the White House staff to Barack Obama, has decided he will be stepping down. Gibbs will remain an outside political consultant to Obama, as well as assist the president in his re-election campaign.

Robert Gibbs states he will be leaving his White House position in early February. No successor has not yet been decided, though former commerce secretary William Daley appears to be the front-runner. The announcement of Gibbs' successor will likely be announced within the next two weeks.
