Turkish Airlines Hijacking Foiled by Big Passenger

By Douglas V. Gibbs

A masked Turk (reports have not identified him as a Muslim, as of yet) demanded that Istanbul bound Turkish Airlines flight TK1754 from Oslo return to Norway, claiming he had a bomb. The would be hijacker tried to break into the cockpit, but before he was successful, a large passenger sat on the masked Turk.

The subdued potential terrorist was still being subdued by the big passenger when authorities got to him.

The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Cuma Yasar.

The bomb turned out to be a fake, and the motive for the episode remains unclear.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
