Motocross is a big thing locally. Temecula and Murrieta riders compete worldwide, as well as riders from the local area. The Metal Mulisha is one of the more well known racing teams. Racer Jeff 'Ox' Kargola, a longtime resident of San Clemente, is well known in Southern California as one of the premier riders. Jeff recently died in Mexico at a motocross event from injuries sustained after a 1,300 mile ride through Baja California. Kargola was 27.
The reports have indicated that Jeff Kargola suffered a head injury and internal bleeding.
