Republican Bob Turner Wins District Nine

by Douglas V. Gibbs

Bob Turner went after Obama, ran unapologetically as a conservative, and won in New York's District 9, which has been in the hands of the Democrats for nearly a hundred years.

He was conservative, and went right after Obama, and that is why Turner resonated with the voters.

District 9 was Weiner's district, and it has always been considered a safe district for the democrats.

They lost Kennedy's seat to Scott Brown, they lost the New Jersey governorship to Chris Christie, and now they have lost District 9 to Bob Turner, a conservative who was the one that got Rush Limbaugh on television so many years ago.

Bob Turner winning District 9 reminds us that the landslide last November was no fluke. Turner proves that the more conservative the candidate, especially now, the greater the chance of a conservative win.

The democrats are stunned. They don't know what to do.
