American Drone Down in Seychelles

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Fox News on television has reported this morning that another American drone is down, this time on a small island in the Indian Ocean. A U.S. Drone base on the island of Seychelles, the home for two of the aircraft, use an unarmed version of the unmanned aircraft to monitor pirates, though there has been accusations the American Government uses the drones to launch attacks against terrorists in Somalia and Yemen, as well.

A number of bases for the aircraft are reportedly being constructed throughout the region, in order to address the real need against piracy by providing much needed surveillance and intelligence.

The media, at this point, has not provided much information on the downed drone, but as the information becomes available, Political Pistachio will report on it.
