A liberal commenter in Texas once told me we were in the wrong States. He should live in liberal California, and I should be in conservative Texas. My response? California needs me. Without the few rightwing voices here in California, the State would be lost forever.
Liberalism is about control, an increased presence of government in our lives. The liberals in Los Angeles County have made that clear, by passing an ordinance that put into place an all-out ban on playing with footballs, other balls and Frisbees on the beach.
Rush Limbaugh brought this up on one of his shows, as did a number of local news outlets, and the uproar began. Even liberals were pissed.
Under the pressure, the ban has been lifted, but the ball throwers and frisbee slingers still have to get the lifeguard's permission.
Why would the liberal overlords even do this in the first place?
People were getting hurt by wayward balls and discs.
So, because a few people did not act personally responsible, or use a little courtesy, the ruling elite felt they can take away a basic activity at the beach.
Liberalism in action. And one wonders why California is in the deep economic hole that it is in. Look at who has been running the asylum.
