Liberal Democrats: Treat Bills As Paid Based on Postmark

"Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph." --Thomas Paine

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The unconstitutional, tyrannical actions of the democrats in Washington, guided by the authoritarian in chief named Barack Obama, are piling up faster than one can manage. Obama, and friends, have been working on telling the American People what to eat, what to drink, what we can say, what political rhetoric we are allowed to use, what kind of car we should drive, how much energy to use, how companies will conduct their business, how credit companies will conduct business, what kind of cars automobile maker are allowed to produce, that you are mandated by the federal government to purchase health insurance once Obamacare is fully implemented, that banks must pay retribution for lending practices they were ordered to carry out by the very same liberal establishment in Washington, how marriage must be defined, that organizations connected to the Catholic Church (or any religious denomination) must offer birth control and abortion in a pill (morning-after pill) whether they like it or not, and do so at no charge, and that we must accept all of this without complaint otherwise all dissent will be considered racist, radical, extremist, or "anti-government."

Now, there is something more to pile up on the authoritarian liberal wish list. Eight House Democrats have offered a bill that would require companies to consider bills as "paid" once they are postmarked, should the legislation pass and become law.

Think about this, my friends, the liberal democrats want the federal government to dictate to businesses how they must run their businesses, and in particular how they must accept payment for goods or services. The federal government, should this bill pass, could force companies to accept late bills if the postmark on the piece of mail is on or before the date due.

The real kicker is why they want this bill to become law. The federal government has failed in the post offices and now the businesses have to pay the price. Mail is slower, and business now have to pay the price. But despite all that, one must think about this. Since when is it the authority of the government to dictate to a business what their standards must be regarding processing paid bills?

And, of course, there is no constitutional authority for the federal government to pursue this, either.
