Obama's Shark Fin Soup

It was the sort of visit made for cameras, but President Barack Obama's stop at a Chinese restaurant came under scrutiny on Friday after the menu showed that it served shark fin.


Obama, in San Francisco for fund-raisers, on Thursday surprised and delighted lunch-time diners with a surprise stop at a restaurant in Chinatown. He posed for pictures and paid in cash for two bags of take-out food.


But a look at the menu of the restaurant, Great Eastern, showed that it offered soup from shark fin, a Chinese delicacy that environmentalists say is pushing the ancient fish to the point of extinction. White House spokesman Jay Carney said that no one on the staff had been aware of the issue until seeing media reports on Friday and that Obama had not ordered shark.

This story is a pretty good example of what the democrats are all about. The Left has been the champions for outlawing shark fin soup, but because Obama is a member of the ruling elite he is apparently exempt from any worries about the Chinese delicacy, and has no problem ordering from a restaurant serving it on their menu.

Why would Obama think such a thing? I am sure he was thinking along the line, "I'm El Presidente, I can do what I want."

Doesn't this hearken back to when Michelle Obama (an it has gotten worse since) was demanding we eat right and then got caught with her teeth biting into some ribs that were slathered in very unhealthy bar-b-que sauce? What about the fact that these politicians exempted themselves from Obamacare, or insider trading rules?

The Left spends most of their time accusing the republicans of being hypocrites for this and for that, usually pointing their bony fingers at moderates, or making accusations that don't exist. Are there bad apples, and mistakes made? Of course there are. Thanks, purveyors of personal destruction, for pointing them out. Now go look in the mirror. Besides, and I know this is a shock. . . nobody is perfect. Yes, I am sure Obama wasn't thinking when he ordered his Chinese food, "I wonder if they have shark fin soup? If they do, I'm outta here." And I am sure I have done things in my past that the liberals would love to jump all over. The thing is, I throw my skeletons out on the lawn for all to see. The democrats hide theirs, and they don't realize it when there garbage peaks out and people see it. Why? Because they have no standards, so they must be exempt.

Don't worry, democrats, we already know you guys are socialist Marxist bastards that will lie to get what you want, which is of course control over the populace, and more money in your pockets. We know you guys are greedy, power hungry, authoritarians. You don't have to hide it. We already know.
