Nuts and Nuggets

Nut: Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Knows Nothing About Obamacare. At a hearing Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) asked Sebelius about a number of the Obama administration’s claims about the new health care law, namely that it will reduce the deficit and allow individuals to keep their current healthcare plans.  Sebelius professed to not knowing what Johnson was talking about."

"Johnson cited a McKinsey Group study that estimated 30 to 50 percent of employers would drop their employee coverage once the new law is fully implemented, the effect of which could be hundreds of billions of dollars, if not trillions, added to the federal deficit," because they'd have no place to go other than the government to get their health insurance.

That’s the plan. Obama has even said that the objective is to get to a single-payer system. The way they're gonna do it is just to make sure that you've got nowhere else to go but the government and their exchanges.  So Kathleen Sebelius was asked, "Can you keep your own doctor?"  "I don't know."  "Well, is it really gonna reduce the deficit?"  "I have no idea.  I have no idea if Obamacare reduces or adds to the deficit."

The fact is, she doesn't care.  None of this is about health care. It is all about increasing the federal government’s control over your lives.

None of the democrats care whether it adds to the deficit.  They know it does.  They know that not one aspect of this is gonna get cheaper.  The only way they're gonna be able to control costs, at least make it look like they're trying to control costs, is to deny treatment to the elderly.  We're gonna eventually get to the point where the federal government will determine whether or not you get treated, and who knows what criteria.

Nugget:  Jake Tapper, ABC News, for laying out the truth in a way that the media is not used to.

There is a new Obama reelection campaign documentary out there, The Road We Traveled., It's a film directed by An Inconvenient Truth director Davis Guggenheim, and this Guggenheim guy, by the way, has said in all of his investigating he can't find one thing wrong with Obama.  According to Guggenheim, Obama's a perfect human being.

So Tapper was reporting on this documentary, and says:

The inconvenient truth for President Obama is that with a current approval rating at below 50%, his odds of reelection are likelier if he makes the election not about him. The unemployment rate when President Obama took office was 7.8%.  It went up to 10%, and is now 8.3%.  Gas prices when the president took office averaged $1.84 a gallon.  It's now $3.79 a gallon.  And home values have gone down since the president took office.

There have been more than 2.8 million foreclosures under his watch.  President Obama has his work cut out for him with the Democratic base. Compared to four years ago, Democrats are deflated and Republicans are much more enthusiastic about voting this November.
