The murder of Trayvon Martin was a tragic event. A mother lost her son, and a neighborhood watch captain took a life. George Zimmerman must be devastated by the prospect that a heart stopped beating because of his actions. It must be an incredible burden, carrying the death of another, on your conscience.
Seeking to politicize the death of the teenager in Florida, the liberal left media shot into action. This may have been the racial violence they've been looking for. This may finally be the opportunity for them to proclaim America is a racist nation with racist citizens, and the war against blacks in America has finally reached its limit.
The media, however, did not get what they hoped for. People are not stupid. They recognized the actions of the opportunists of the liberal left as they mobilized to create a racial divide in the hopes it would help Obama's campaign, and create more crisis so that they can push more hard left authoritarian policies.
George Zimmerman, the shooter, was called a white antagonist, though his mother is Hispanic. Zimmerman claimed he acted in self-defense, but Martin was portrayed as this poor, innocent teen that got attacked by the mean ol' white guy. Black leaders called for violence in the streets, mobs to kidnap Zimmerman and bring him to justice, and have proclaimed the unrest won't stop until the racist shooter is captured and punished.
I am half expecting them to throw a noose over a branch of the tallest tree in town, as they gather around with pitchforks and torches.
It turns out the media jumped the gun, and evidence is revealing Zimmerman may have acted in self-defense after all.
Darn, the liberals must be thinking, foiled again.
The racist Connecticut cop wound up in a beer summit with Obama, the Duke LaCrosse opportunity turned out to be a big lie, and now this one is not what they made it out to be either.
The game isn't up, yet.
But why the crazy accusations, and calls for civil unrest over this? Why are the democrats and liberals calling for a racial divide? Don't they already have a hefty majority of the black vote?
The liberals have been attacking minorities for over a century, and their methods to buy black votes has worked like a charm. Why more racial divide?
The democrats are obsessed with power, and they must continue to do all they can do to make it look like they are the savior of the oppressed. Welfare programs have attached millions of Americans to the central government, creating a permanent voting bloc in favor of an ever-growing federal government. Never mind the pathologies created by dependency on government, how it destroys the work ethic, breaks up families, and traps millions in poverty since taking a job would mean losing thousands of dollars in government benefits.
Poverty among blacks became much worse once the democrats declared war on it fifty years ago. Poverty had been on the decline for the previous twenty years, and then once the left began trying to fix poverty, it has worsened.
Tying people to the government has created a whole new class of people, millions strong, who depend on the federal government, yet the democrats don't have total power, yet. Something is missing, they are thinking, so new crises must emerge, new divisions between groups must erupt. That is how they gain votes. . . by creating hate, and then claiming they will step in and fix it. . . after all, we all know it is all the fault of the republicans, right?
