Importance of Voting

"Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that ... he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country." --Samuel Adams

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The United States of America is a republic, but we use some democratic processes to elect our representatives.

Even though originally our vote was primarily only for local, State, and House of Representative elections, the progressives have moved us closer to a pure democracy where, if we are not vigilant, the loud and well funded leftists can easily take our country from us. With the Obama Presidency, we have seen how close to the edge this nation can be taken.

If we don't ensure through our vote that Obama, and the liberal left democrats, are removed from power, we will be destined to lose our nation.

Freedom is on the precipice, and it is our vote that can stop the madness.

Now, I know that Romney is not the best choice in the world. His history makes one wonder if he is a flip-flopper, or a man slowly seeing the light. But when you compare Romney, the flawed capitalist, to the raging Marxist in the White House right now, the answer should be clear.

With the choice of Paul Ryan as his running mate, the Romney/Ryan ticket has become the best, and most conservative, ticket we have seen since Reagan.

For those of you that are not convinced, calling Romney the lesser of two evils, think about this. . . no election has been as important as this one in recent memory. Another Obama term will destroy this nation. Another Obama term will be more of the same, and worse. The democrats will complete their Cloward/Piven move, and by 2016 there will be no more elections. . .

This is a very real possibility - if Obama is reelected.

The importance of voting in 2012 is more than we have ever seen before.

While I was in San Francisco the other day a homeless man was holding a hat with a cardboard sign that said, "Give me money or I will vote for Romney." It may have worked with the locals, but the tourists were giving him nothing. I winked, and said, "You'll make more money if you threaten to vote for Obama."
