In short, the democrats just pushed a bill to allow all public spaces as being permissible for the homeless to sleep on. It is called the California Homeless Bill of Rights.
James O'Keefe, known for his video that exposed ACORN for its fraudulent and illegal activities, decided to put it to a test, and found a sidewalk in front of the home of Democratic Assemblymen Roger Dickinson, who backed the bill, and then laid there to rest as a member of the homeless community.
Dickinson called the cops on O'Keefe.
Then O'Keefe's team moved on to the sidewalk in from if the San Francisco office of Ammiano, the second assemblyman behind the bill. This time, the result was more than just a mere call to the cops.
Homeland Security agents arrived, demanding that the video be turned over in violation of the journalists’ Fourth Amendment rights, which expresses that we have a right against unreasonable searches and seizures.
As BizPac Review states, "The two encounters are reminiscent of the late Sen. Edward 'Ted' Kennedy, who strongly supported green energy, yet fought tooth and nail against the Cape Wind Project, consisting of an offshore wind farm in Nantucket Sound. The reason for the senator’s opposition? He would have seen the turbines from the Kennedy compound."
In this case it is "all of you people must allow the homeless to solicit and sleep where they desire, but I don't have to allow it near me."
The liberal left is the epitome of hypocrisy, and this is a fine example.
