More Than 70 Killed in Cairo Clashes Over The Weekend

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Morsi supporters, those in line with the Muslim Brotherhood, were targeted in bloody protests over the weekend.

The United States has decided not to send F-16s slated to go to Egypt in the face of the troubles - some say showing that the U.S. is taking sides.

I ask, why have we been sending financial aid in the first place to any country aligned with Islam, which has openly called for the destruction of the United States?

Seen as a military coup, which by rule would disallow the United States from sending aid, debates on how much aid to send is in discussion in Washington.

Considering our ally Israel is nearby, officials believe the United States Government needs to remain engaged in the area for fear this could ignite other instability in the region.
