"What Gives The President This Type Of Authority?"

by JASmius

Representative Louie Gohmert (TX-01) raised important questions regarding decisions Obama has made regarding government funding, actions in Libya and the use of drones. He asks the jarring question, "What gives the President this type of authority?"

I trust - I hope - that Congressman Gohmert is posing this question as the theme of the point he's attempting to make and not as a genuine inquiry.  Because its answer is the same as it's always been: Nothing gives him the legal authority to do any of those things.  It isn't about legal authority; it's about power.  Barack Obama's true legacy is that he has amputated one from the other.  He has become the very sort of imperial ruler Democrats have for years falsely accused Republican presidents of being; but because he's one of them - because he's chieftain of the "right" tribe and not the "wrong' tribe - they're perfectly okay with that.

Again, this is the true crisis the American nation faces: a dictator who bows to no man, no institution, no law, and no Constitution.  If Louie Gohmert has any bright ideas on how to depose O, I'd love to hear them.

I understand that the president wants this immigration law passed because he will then move forward by bringing the muslim brotherhood into America. And after their are a certain number here, then he will move forward with abolishing the Constitution.
