Barack Obama told a Notre Dame audience in 2009 that his health care plan would respect those Americans who disagree with abortion. Now he's demanding nuns pay for contraceptives and abortions.
Well, you know what Lord Acton said: "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." And if one is already a corrupt, power-lusting megalomaniac? That, we're seeing unfold right before our bleary, bloodshot, bugging eyes.
The federal appellate courts and SCOTUS are attempting to be impediments to this jack-booted thuggery, at least temporarily. Logic and experience, however, both indicate that a "president" who would attempt such blatantly unconstitutional oppression against a deliberately and overtly targeted group is unlikely to pay much, if any, attention to such legalistic niceties as "separation of powers" and "checks & balances". It is more likely, in fact, that he'll forcibly sterilize all such appellate court judges and Supreme Court Justices as a maximally visible example of what happens when you cross the Regime.
Admittedly, that won't matter much in the cases of Justices Ginsburg and Kagan, but still.....
