He's the anti-Martin Luther King. Or would be if I believed for a moment that MLK, had he lived, wouldn't have followed in the footsteps of all his lieutenants and degenerated into a flaming racist. Much like JFK would have hurtled left like his brothers Robert and Teddy. Assassination is the only thing that preserved their iconic honorable caricatures.
Still, you wonder what Dr. King circa 1963 would make of Barack Obama today, and what a private conversation between the two would look like. The former actually fought to end actual American apartheid; the latter....well, he's a what? Seven or eight handicap?
