Nobel Peace Prize: The Award for Tyrants

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for promises of appeasement, and knocking the United States down a few notches.  His tyranny against Americans, as he shreds the Constitution, is being followed by a systematic weakening of the U.S. Military to levels below what they were at the start of World War II.  Providing for the common defense is not among the priorities of his presidency, apparently.

So, when it comes for that prize that is supposed to be for peacemakers, we now go from tyrant to tyrant.  As Russia is using its military for aggressive actions against Ukraine, Russian president Vladimir Putin has reportedly been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, as well.

The reason for the nomination?

According to the Peace Research Institute Oslo, Putin has been “reportedly nominated by the International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation Among the Nations of the World and backed by Russian MP Iosif Kobzon, for his averting of an air strike on Syria after the chemical gas attacks in August 2013.”

In other words, if you are a tyrant, and you are seeking war on a constant basis, but you can restrain yourself when faced with an opportunity to drop a few bombs, according to some groups, you deserve a peace prize.

That's like giving an 800 pound man a medal for eating one less doughnut than the day before, after he devoured a few dozen.

That's like defending Obama because "he's trying," after five years of policies that are collapsing America.

It just makes no sense.
