Networks Refused Prime-Time Slot For Obama Speech

by JASmius

Holy crap.  That's like denying St. Peter's Basilica to the Pope:

The White House asked major TV networks for a prime-time slot for President Barack Obama's Tuesday speech proclaiming Obamacare had reached its 7.1 million enrollment milestone, but network officials rebuffed the request.

Citing three sources familiar with the request, Buzzfeed reports that the broadcasters refused to make any accommodation, leaving Obama to host his address in the Rose Garden during the day while daytime talk shows were airing.
And it isn't even a ratings "sweeps" month, either.  Guess the nets figured that Lost reruns would do better ratings than the forty three trillion and thirty-first Obama "historic" speech.  Ditto a Naked & Afraid special with Roseanne Barr, Rosie O'Donnell, and Ellen DeGeneres.  And this was a Mark Gastineau-esque....

....in-your-face end zone celebration/gloatfest/taunt-orgy, too.  The nets usually bust their nuts at the orgasmic prospect of putting those front & center.  They couldn't even muster enough idolatrous fervor to do it one more time?  Not even for nostalgia's sake?  Man, I guess the magic really is gone.  And, you know, their "god" has completely morphed into an Urkel-turd.

You know what that means: Tesseract to the rescue!
