Obama Delays XL Pipeline Decision Until After Midterms

by JASmius

Isn't it amazing how the more passive-aggressively dictatorial Barack Obama gets, the more Americans he incenses into becoming aggressively-aggressive?:

The Obama administration said Friday it's extending its review of the Keystone XL pipeline – a procedural punt that could put off a decision until after midterms – unleashing howls of protest from both Republicans and Democrats who want the project approved.

More specifically, congressional Democrats up for re-election this fall who are looking at five years of engineered economic depression on their demigod's watch, the engineered ObamaCare cataclysm, and, well, the rest of their demigod's watch creating an uphill battle at a ninety-degree angle.  Republicans?  Bleep the Republicans.

And, apparently, all those imperiled Democrats.

State Department officials cited ongoing litigation in Nebraska over the pipeline’s route, and said more time was needed to allow for comment.

The indecision over the northern leg of TransCanada’s pipeline, which would connect the tar sands of Alberta to oil refineries and export facilities in Texas, has dragged on for nearly six years[.]

Folks, this is not about litigation in Nebraska.  Neither is any more time needed for comments.  All the comments that will ever be made about whether or not to build this damned pipeline have already been forwarded, posted, lodged, and uttered.  This is about Barack Obama vetoing the Keystone XL pipeline without being seen as vetoing it.  Never fully coming out and saying "no," but never in a galactic rotation EVER saying "yes".  The practical effect of which is....no bleeping pipeline.  "Waiting for it to blow over" is the most applicable metaphor.

Once again it falls to me to point out the obvious: There was a better chance of a ninety-eight mile-per-hour Obama ceremonial first-pitch fastball on the outside corner of the plate than there ever was of a Marxist-Alinskyist, anti-energy, pro-greenstremist zealot such as Red Barry doing ANYTHING that might aid the cause of providing access to real, genuine, affordable domestic energy resources to the American people.  It's Solyndra or bust, people; you're going to use wind and solar, you're going to live in that cold, damp cave with Moonwatcher hoping the killer leopard doesn't find and eat you and your loved ones, and you're going to bow down with tears of joy and worshipfully thank Godbama for it.  Period.

Naturally, Republicans are pissed to the last Pachyderm.  But Democrats?  Some of them kinda are, too:

North Dakota Democrat Senator Heidi Heitkamp also blasted the delay, calling it "absolutely ridiculous," while Senator Mary Landrieu, D-LA, called the delay "irresponsible, unnecessary and unacceptable," Fox News reported.

"By making it clear that they will not move the process forward until there is a resolution in a lawsuit in Nebraska, the administration is sending a signal that the small minority who oppose the pipeline can tie up the process in court forever," Landrieu said. "There are 42,000 jobs, $20 billion in economic activity and North America's energy security at stake."...

The latest delay comes just a week after a group of 11 Senate Democrats – five of them looking to get re-elected this year – urged Obama to make up his mind by May 31.

They included Landrieu, as well as Mark Begich of Alaska, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Kay Hagan of North Carolina and Mark Warner of Virginia, all of them up for re-election. All were backers of the Keystone project.

"This decision must not drag on into the summer,” the letter urged. Democratic Senators Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Joe Donnelly of Indiana, and Jon Tester and John Walsh, both of Montana, also signed the plea.

It isn't for environmental reasons, because Keystone XL has cleared every hurdle the greenstremists have thrown at it.  It isn't for economic reasons, because Keystone XL would aid U.S. energy independence and create tens of thousands of real [i.e. private sector] jobs.  It isn't for political reasons, because the American public wants Keystone XL and, as congressional Dems are demonstrating, they'll be punished in November for O's extremist obstructionism.

It's because Barack Obama is a Marxist-Alinskyist, anti-energy, pro-greenstremist ideological zealot.

And also because bipartisan "Bleep you!"

Don't like it?  Guess who owns the killer leopard?
