Television reports are indicating that the huge fire in Arizona is either contained, or nearly contained. Last night, the fire was only 5% contained after burning almost 8,000 acres for most of the week. Dry fuel and rugged terrain made fighting the fire difficult for the more than 850 fire personnel in the area fighting the blaze. Located between Flagstaff and Sedona, the Slide Fire has threatened homes and businesses, but there has been no report of structures destroyed, or injuries.
