Where Was Obama During Benghazi Raid?

Honestly, I think he was right there in the White House Situation Room watching every last shell and bullet rip and tear through all four Americans that he ordered to be allowed to perish that night, close-up and in HD quality color, nodding with a faint smile on his face like he used to do in the pews of Trinity United Church to Jeremiah Wright's hate-filled Ameriphobic "sermons".

I suspect that scenario for two reasons: (1) it would be perfectly in character for who he is, and (2) his underlings keep insisting he wasn't there:

Three top Republican senators asked President Barack Obama on Friday to disclose where he was during the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi that killed four Americans.
The letter was from Senators John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire. It comes a day after former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor told Fox News that Obama was not in the Situation Room in the White House's basement following events as they occurred on September 11th, 2012.... 

Vietor told Fox on Thursday that Obama was in the Oval Office in the White House when he first learned of the attacks.
"It is well known that when the attack was first briefed to him, it was in the Oval Office, and he was updated constantly," Vietor told Fox.
He added that did not know where the president was at all points in the night because he does not have a "tracking device on him."
Vietor said that Obama did not have to be in the Situation Room to continuously monitor a a developing situation.

It's almost axiomatic: The truth is the diametric opposite of whatever an Obamunist says it is.  Not surprisingly, Pajama Androgyne's test tube sibling's version of events lines up precisely with then-Defense Commissar Leon Panetta's testimony before the House Armed Services Committee fifteen months ago.  This part of the Official Narrative was also graven in stone long ago and no Regime drone is going to deviate from it.

All that said, I also cannot help but wonder if this is an extraneous rabbit trail down which Darth Queeg, Grahamnesty, and Ayotte are treading toward an irrelevance quagmire.  Take a look at Panetta's testimony again.  If his version were true, O could easily have told him and General Martin Dempsey something along the lines of, "Whatever the details, do not, under any circumstances, affect a rescue of Ambassador Stevens or anybody else in that compound," and then ambled back to the Oval Office to play Galaga or something.



Two words: "Plausible deniability".  The less the dictator knows about the details of the Benghazi attack, the more insulated he is from apparent responsibility for it, and the easier it becomes to hang all the blame on Panetta and Hillary - both of whom are conveniently out of the Regime now. (Yes, I know, the man at the top is supposed to be responsible for everything that goes in his administration, but does anybody believe that O would reprise President Reagan's Iran-Contra national address?)  And given that, that feeds right into Vietor's "Oh, c'mon, dude, this was nearly two years ago, it's ancient history, let's just move on" rap.

In short, does it really matter where O was that night?  He set the "policy" - "Let them die".  He didn't have to be present in the Situation Room, on the edge of his seat munching a big container of triple-buttered popcorn, giggling, "Wow, that's awesome.  That looks exactly like Call of Duty, doesn't it?"



Senators, Trey Gowdy is the professional prosecutor here.  Let him conduct the cross-examination.  I think he'll know who to mercilessly drill into the ground and with what ruthless queries, better than you three hangers-on and horners-in.
