Hamas Leader: Israel Causing Holocaust in Gaza

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The claim by the political chief of Hamas is so stupid, so idiotic, and so obviously a lie of epic proportions, that President Barack Obama just might be willing to act like he fell for it. . . and then convince the idiots of the world who have been protesting against Israel that the Israeli government is committing a horrendous siege against Gaza of proportions so great that it is a "holocaust" against the Palestinians.

Israel is surrounded by the enemy.  Islam has stated many times that not only will they never recognize the State of Israel, they will never negotiate with Israel, and there will be no peace until there is no Israel.  And now we are supposed to believe that Israel is the aggressor against poor Gaza as Hamas launches rocket after rocket into Israel, aimed at civilian populations, and as Israel has shown incredible restraint in their response.

The leader of Hamas in Gaza sent a message to President Barack Obama: "You as the leader of the most powerful state in the world, I ask you to call [on] Israel to stop its aggression on Gaza — and to lift the siege and open the cross borders and to rebuild Gaza." The cry by Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal is nothing new, but the reality is that the real goal is no Israel.

The liberal left wants no Israel, as well.  The direct appeal to Obama will be considered, because like Islam, the statists of the liberal left progressive democrat party consider the tiny State of Israel as being the aggressors.  Like Meshaal, the leftists have no problem comparing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, even though the reverse is true.  The frightening part is that there will be liberal left sheep that will go along with the comparison.  The sheep that voted for Obama will fall in line, like good little tools, and support anti-Israel actions by the United States against the Jewish people in the Middle East.

The leader of Hamas says they are "ready for a cease-fire" and is willing to stop its rocket attacks, yet each cease-fire has been violated by Hamas.

A cease-fire for Hamas is not what they claim.  A cease-fire for Hamas is simply a chance to reload.

The leader of Hamas insisted that Obama has a "moral responsibility" to pressure the Israelis to stop the conflict in Gaza, as if the conflict exists because of Israel.  The rain of missiles began from Gaza, not Israel.  Israel gave Gaza to the Muslims in the hope of peace, and now Hamas is waging war on Israel from Gaza, and claiming the conflict is the fault of the Jewish State.

Meshaal has been the chief leader of Hamas's political arm in exile since 2004, and has been emerging as its most visible international spokesman. He has a way with deception.  He has a way with language.  And he knows how to bend and twist the liberal left progressives on the international stage to bend to his will.

Meshaal has been embraced by leftists.

George W. Bush, however, branded Meshaal a "specially designated global terrorist," accusing him of raising money for and "supervising assassination operations, bombings and the killings of Israeli settlers."

Of course the leader of Hamas claimed those charges were "lies" and disclaimed any direct responsibility for the Hamas suicide bombings that killed hundreds of Israeli civilians during the 1990s and 2000s.

"I'm a political leader, and I do not interfere in military affairs," he said. "What the Palestinian people do in resisting occupation are details that I do not get myself involved in."

Resisting occupation.

In 2005, as decided upon by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Israel pulled completely out of Gaza. All settlers, and all military forces, were removed from Gaza.  Sharon gave Gaza to Hamas in the hopes of achieving peace.  Yet, Meshaal claims the "Palestinians" in Gaza are "resisting occupation."

Meshaal did acknowledge that Hamas members were behind the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers hitchhiking on the West Bank in June but said Hamas political leaders did not know about the operation "in advance."

Meshaal justified the killing of the Israeli teens as a legitimate action against Israelis on "occupied" lands. "Our view is that soldiers and settlers in the West Bank are aggressors, and they are illegally living in these occupied and stolen lands," he said. "And the right to resist them is the right of Palestinians."

Meanwhile, the Muslims that live in Israel are the freest followers of Islam in the world, and under pressure of Hamas, Israel departed completely from Gaza.

Meshaal was critical of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who in a recent interview with The Atlantic accused Hamas of "embedding rockets and command and control facilities in civilian areas" and said, "There's no doubt in my mind that Hamas initiated this conflict. So the ultimate responsibility has to rest on Hamas and the decisions it made."

Meshaal says the Jews are stealing land. . . land the Muslims cared nothing about when the same lands were under the control of the Ottoman Empire.

In the end, the truth has been repeated over and over.  As it says in the 1988 Palestinian charter, a document that vows to "raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine," and renounces all peace initiatives, "There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by jihad."

If the United States, as unlikely as we may think it seems, ever moved against Israel, following the demands of someone like Meshaal, the result would be the destruction of the United States, pure and simple.
