Putin Retaliates Against Sanctions With Food-Import Limits

Or, in other words, Czar Vlad is going to retaliate against Western economic sanctions imposed over the escalation of his subversion of Ukraine by starving his own people.  Yes, that makes perfect sense:

Russia will ban billions of dollars worth of food imports from the U.S. and other nations in retaliation for sanctions over the turmoil in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin Wednesday ordered restrictions on food and agricultural imports for one year from countries that have imposed or supported sanctions against Russia, according to the Kremlin website.

Just what a country with a declining population and birthrate needs.  Maybe Vlad has discovered a connection to the toilet down which all that semen was flushed during Madri Gras.  Hey, it has a lot of good protein in it, too.  That renowned Russian efficiency strikes again.  Somewhere.  In that vodka haze.

Putin has refused to bow to sanctions, aiming with Wednesday’s measure “to protect national interests,” according to the decree. He called on the government to increase domestic supplies with the help of producers and retailers and to avoid spurring food-price growth.

Like I said, that renowned Russian efficiency.

Incidentally, food import items to be banned will include vegetables, fruits, meat products - what the lumpenproletariat consumes - but not wine and other luxury items - what the lumpenproletariat doesn't eat.  Because, of course, it's the Russian people who are making Vlad invade Ukraine.  And they currently support him by a 4-1 margin, and had better continue doing so.  Or else.

And the Obama Regime's response to this DEFCON-1-ish escalation?:

“Retaliating against Western companies or countries will deepen Russia’s international isolation, causing further damage to its own economy,” Laura Lucas, a spokeswoman for U.S. President Barack Obama’s national security council, said in an email. “We continue to call on Russia to take immediate steps to deescalate the conflict and cease its efforts to destabilize Ukraine.”

Vlad heard you the first time, Laura.  It is you who appear to have not heard him.  Because he does not seem to value the glories of internationalist kumbayahism like you do.  He does, however, value the re-conquest of Ukraine.  A goal from which you and your demigod are not impeding him in the slightest.

You do also realize that Vlad can accuse you of starving the Russian people, right?  Because I don't think Mr. Putin cares about being called "racist" any more than he does about "international isolation".  Maybe he and Lurch can discuss it over some contraband vegetables, fruits, and meat products.

If Moochelle doesn't find out about the meat products, of course.
