Looks like they live out their motto.
This breaking story was harbinged by the emergence of this video. Pay particular attention to the voice in the last seven seconds:
“You will never be safe…not you, not your children," growls Bassem Masri to Ferguson police officers as the NBP besieged police headquarters. Nothing threatening or potentially violent about that, is there? Just nice, peaceful public assembly, right?
That was six hours ago. And now.....this:
Tonight the leader of the St. Louis chapter of the New Black Panther Party Olajuwon Ali and Member Brandon Baldwin were arraigned on Federal charges in the court of US Magistrate Tom Mummert for trying to purchase pipe bombs. Undercover FBI agents caught the two in preparations to destroy the [St. Louis Gateway A]rch by blowing it up as a sign of "white racial oppression" as well as killing as many cops as they could during the impending unrest in Ferguson after the grand jury decision is announced. They were arrested this morning.…
The two men wanted to purchase up to ten pipe bombs, but could only afford three. The two men have confessed to wanting to kill Prosecutor Bob McCulloch, and as many policemen as possible.…[emphases added]
So here are the New Black Panthers - not the Tea Party, but the New Black Panthers, complete with their ripped-off and twisted Patrick Henry-esque slogan - plotting overt acts of leftwing domestic terrorism that no doubt would send tingles down Bill Ayers' dingle. Like nobody could have seen this coming.
And then, the quite literal smoking gun:
Police officers with the St. Louis City Police Department were instructed by the White House and Attorney General Holder’s DOJ not to speak with reporters and media, to “Keep a lid on it”. [emphasis added]
How about that? Can't let word get out that Barack Obama and Eric "The Red" Holder might be complicit in sanctioning acts of domestic terrorism against infrastructure, tourist landmarks, local law enforcement officers and prosecutors, with inevitable collateral damage and civilian casualties, in order to incite a nationwide race war as a pretext for declaring martial law, can they? That might let that particular cat out of the bag a "smidgeon" too soon for their coup de tat timetable, now mightn't it? Which means that Messrs. Ali and Baldwin are dead meat. It's the only reason why Holder allowed them to be charged. The connection to the Obama White House must be severed and never allowed to be traced back to its ultimate source. That way, revelations can be relegated to allegations, and then consigned to the realm of "rightwing paranoia". And, in the worst-case scenario, Holder is leaving anyway, so that sword could be added to the ones on which he's already designated to fall.
Wouldn't it be novel if a reporter who wasn't afraid to wind up like Sharyl Attkisson were to ask O on what constitutional authority the feds muzzled local cops, and for what reason they wanted a "lid" put on this quite literally "explosive" development? Inquiring minds would like to know, methinks.
