Snow Falls on Ferguson, Missouri

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The police are searching for the AR-15 Rifle stolen from the police car that was set on fire when the riots began after a grand jury decided not to indict Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown.  As the police conducted their search, and the National Guard remained in position, snow began to fall, reducing the number of opportunists willing to brave the cold weather.

Protesters say the demonstrations are physically wearing them down, but the anger remains.

During Tuesday's unrest, two guns, a Molotov cocktail, and items thrown at officers were seized.

Ron Johnson, Missouri State Highway Patrol captain, said officers had "not seen anything of this magnitude."

On Monday Night, directly after the grand jury's decision, more than a dozen buildings were set ablaze, while other businesses were looted and cars were set on fire.  Overall, there were 21 fires and 61 arrests, 32 for burglary. Three officers were injured in the mayhem, which was spread over four square miles.

With fist in the air, the sign of black power, a Black Nationalist sign, reminds society of where this racial division could progress to. . . if we are willing to remember history, and recall the rise of agitators that have always hoped for Helter Skelter.
