The Irregular Militia Deploys To Ferguson

by JASmius

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." - Amendment II

This group of Ferguson business owners may not have realized that they were, and are, an "irregular" militia, but in defending their stores from the latest round of destructive, fiery, professional "civil unrest," they most definitely fit that bill:

Along West Florissant just north of 270, in Greystone Plaza, about twenty men with handguns and AR-15 rifles stood around the perimeter of the parking lot, guarding the dozen or so stores. They estimated that a hundred cars had come by throughout the night, seemingly to check the place out, but turned away. Mike Cross, the owner of St. Louis Ink at the plaza, said: “There’s nothing in this strip mall open, so you’re going to get scrutinized.”

Whaddaya know; as soon as you render a target "hard" rather than "soft," would-be looters and rioters decide to make discretion the better part of valor and go looking for "soft" targets that had not been "hardened."  Funny how that works.

Incidentally, take a closer look at the men in that photograph.  Unless all four of my weak eyes are malfunctioning, I see black guys AND white guys, banded together like, dare I say it, "Minutemen" to defend their livelihoods against the professional destroyers who are their common foes.  I don't care what the gun confiscators say, that is a sign of both hope and racial/ethnic solidarity, if you ask me.
