Sony Decides to Release "The Interview," After all

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Apparently, the outcry by Hollywood, political pundits on both sides of the aisle, and the President of the United States trumps threats by a short, pudgy dictator in North Korea.  Sony Pictures has announced that the Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy, "The Interview," will be released in theaters after all, and they are throwing in on demand video while they are at it.

The release is a limited release, expected to be in about 200 theaters, and tickets could be on sale as soon as next Tuesday.

What is going to happen, with all of this hub-bub about the film, is even if it sucks, it is going to kick butt in sales, because everyone is curious what about it has the un-dictator in North Korea so upset - aside from the fact that the film is all about an attempt on his life, I mean.

I, myself, was surprised about Kim Jong Un's reaction, because I figured he has a sense of humor.  He has to.  He entertained a visit by Dennis Rodman, after all.
