In a well-planned police action, authorities used security cameras at a Jewish Kosher supermarket on the east side of Paris, to help coordinate the storming of the location. Police were able to enable all hostages being held to be freed without being killed. All of the terrorists were killed during the confrontation.
The activity at the Kosher supermarket followed shortly after another confrontation in northeast Paris where French police killed the two brothers suspected of murdering 12 people at a Paris newspaper on Wednesday. In that confrontation, one hostage was being held, but the hostage was released unharmed.
The brothers, and the hostage-taker at the Kosher supermarket, were allegedly associated with each other.
All of the suspects are Muslim, and in the case of the brothers that killed members of a satirical newspaper earlier this week, well-trained in jihadist tactics.
