Obama Demotes Opposition at Fox News

By Douglas V. Gibbs

According to the White House, Fox News Channel is no longer a news organization.  Now, they have been demoted to just FOX.

The liberal left Democrats have decided that Fox News is the source of conservative news, and must be knocked down a few notches.  Conservatives know that Fox News has given in to many of the pressures by their colleagues in the mainstream media, and as much as the liberal left says Fox News is the conservative news channel, in reality conservatives know that Fox News is a part of the mainstream media. . . but does well because they have hired a few conservative hosts and reporters.

Better to watch a channel that at least pretends to be conservative, I suppose.

In the Inquisitr article about the demotion, the website is quick to point out Shepard Smith, since he is the one that first revealed the White House's decision to drop "news" after the word "Fox."  Smith is often used by the liberal left media when they talk about Fox News, as if he is the face of Fox News.  Smith often speaks like a moderate and a liberal, while occasionally spouting language that may be considered nearly conservative.  He's not exactly the most conservative face of Fox News, and that is why the liberal left love to use him as their example. . . seeking ways to mock Fox News through Smith's ridiculousness, and shortcomings.

It was Shepard Smith that pointed out, and verbalized, however, the White House's decision to demote Fox News to just FOX.

On the air, after commenting how all of the liberal networks had the word "news" on their identification cards at their stations, Smith said, “And I looked at mine, and it doesn’t say anything about news. It just says, ‘Fox.’ And I looked at Bret Baier’s and it said, ‘Bret Baier, Fox.’ But all the rest of them got ‘news.’ I mean, I don’t care — lunch was great.”

Smith mentioned the problem, but downplayed it.  The conservatives did not.  Conservative talkers and writers saw the move for what it was, calling the action by the White House an “incredibly petty move,” “passive-aggressive,” and “immature.”

In an attempt to attack the legitimacy of Fox News, however, the Obama administration has simply revealed itself for what it really is. . . an administration that believes it can bully its opposition, yet when it does, a large segment of We the People see it for what it is.  Whether Fox News' reputation as the conservative news source is deserved, or not, it is clear that the Obama minions see Fox News as the enemy and are doing everything they can to destroy the network, to silence the network, and to eliminate the network.

The message was received, but the reality is that in the end it simply made the White House look bad.
