Scott Walker Backs Up Gun Rights With His Pen

by JASmius

When every Republican presidential candidate was being swarmed by the Democrat-Media Complex last weekend to call for the old Confederate States to be sawed off from the rest of the country, towed into the middle the Atlantic, and nuked to the bottom of the Laurentian Abyss next to Megatron, Scott Walker calmly and reasonably replied that that was a decision for the people of South Carolina to make through their elected representatives and not a relevant question for a presidential candidate.  And in the wake of the same tired, futile gun control caterwauling after the Dylann Roof atrocity in Charleston, South Carolina, here today was the Wisconsin governor, signing two new gun rights bills into law right in the teeth of it:

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) plans to sign two new laws on Wednesday that expand the rights of gun owners by removing a forty-eight-hour waiting period for those looking to purchase a firearm and allowing off-duty or retired police officers to carry concealed weapons at public schools.

No more "gun-free" zones in the land of cheese.

This action will come one week after a suspected gunman shot and killed nine people in an African American church in South Carolina, yet again prompting a national discussion about gun laws in the U.S.

Walker plans to sign the two pieces of legislation — Senate bills 35 and 70 — at a ceremony at the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday afternoon, according to a Tuesday evening press release from the governor’s office. Laurel Patrick, a spokeswoman for the governor, said this bill-signing was scheduled and announced about two weeks ago, several days before the shooting occurred in South Carolina.

He didn't panic.  He didn't get spooked and head for the hills.  He planned to sign SB 35 and SB 70 and he by-God signed them.  This is one more example of why Scott Walker is fifty-seven different kinds of awesome, and why he is the 2016 Republican presidential frontrunner no matter what any DMC (Democrat-Media Complex) poll says.

And Red State agrees:

Scott Walker for all his flaws [?] knows how to extend a giant middle finger to the anti-American left and he isn’t the slightest bit shy about doing it. That counts for a lot, not just with me but with a huge portion of the GOP primary electorate who has been begging for someone who could prove that you can win elections and govern effectively while taking on liberal sacred cows at the same time. Scott Walker seems determined to be that guy and so far it is working.

Or, "For every Obama, there is an equal and opposite Walker".
