Clearly, Debbie Downer doesn't live in Idaho:
The marriage debate is over, Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz declares – but a landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex "marriage" still managed to spark a heated exchange on the ABC talk show The View.
"The 'marriage' equality decision is settled," Wasserman-Schultz tells the Daily Signal in a videotaped interview posted Wednesday.
The hell it has. The backlash against this tyrannical overreach and the light-speed slippery slope it is unleashing has only just begun.
"Love is love and now everyone in America enjoys the protection of the United States Constitution when it comes to who they choose to marry legally."
Love is an emotional abstraction. Marriage is a societal institution designed to propagate and civilize the "species". That's why God ordained it as He did, limited to one man and one woman. Five robed despots cannot change that, even if they had the legal authority to do so.
And here, of course, comes the trademark leftwingnut denial of Pandora's Box, despite how far down this debauched road they've dragged us already:
Though the High Court decision "doesn’t mean that churches and religious institutions have to conduct same-sex 'marriages' and it doesn’t mean that religious institutions aren’t able to practice their own values," Wasserman-Schultz maintained the Christian bakers who refused to make a cake for a lesbian wedding were way out of line....
"[I]n this country, we do not allow people to discriminate," the DNC chairwoman said. "You shouldn’t be able to turn people away based on who they are."
"We" allow discrimination against evangelical Christians, Deb. The SCOTUS has mandated it.
Of course it means that churches and religious institutions have to conduct sodomarriages and are prohibited from practicing their own values. Those values have been outlawed. There is no more religious freedom, no more religious liberty, no more religious expression, no more First Amendment (except for Muslims, of course). Period. Christians have been banned, are persona non gratta, are no longer even second-class citizens, but not citizens at all. Christians can no longer own or run their own businesses, can only be employees if they remain "underground," evangelical pastors and elders and deacons will be frog-marched from behind their pulpits and out of their churches in handcuffs.
We're not far away from the scenario prophesied in Revelation 13:
And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.
Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. That is the undeniable logic of Obergefell.
And a word of advice to Candace Cameron Bure: Don't try to make any appeal to our enemies for civility or tolerance; they've got the upper hand around our throats now, and "tolerance" is a thing of the past. Our unconditional surrender is the only thing for which they will settle. So stand for the truth, don't retreat, and kick Raven-Symoné's ass, while you still can.
