It's Official: Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis Jailed For Her Faith

by JASmius

May as well slap the cuffs on the rest of us, too, Judge:

A federal judge has ordered a defiant Kentucky clerk to jail after she refused to issue marriage licenses to [homosexual] "couples".

U.S. District Judge David Bunning told Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis she would be jailed until she complied with his order to issue the licenses. Davis said "thank you" before she was led out of the courtroom by a U.S. marshal. She was not in handcuffs.

And, if Miss Davis's subsequent comments in defense of her faith-driven actions are any indication, means she's going to remain behind bars for a long, long time:

Davis' relatively newfound faith and obstinance with a potential contempt of court order does not surprise those that know her.

"Kim is one of those people, she's a very religious person and she believes what she says. I don't believe she'll ever issue a marriage license to anybody other than a man and a woman," said Doug Morgan, the chairman of the Rowan County Republicans....

Davis, a fixture in the county clerk's office for nearly three decades, based her decision upon scripture, saying it "has never been a gay or lesbian issue. It is about marriage and God's Word."

And so after years and decades of reading stories about Christians in foreign lands being imprisoned for refusing to renounce their faith, now that despicable practice has arrived in the land of the unfree and the home of the enslaved.

And Kim Davis, mark my words, is only the first of many, many to come.
