Congressional Republicans can't do it - and won't even try anymore - but BHO's misbegotten monster-child has succeeded where they have chosen to fail.
True, it's kind of like a Kronosaurus devouring a Plesiosaur. Which is rather grisly in a "depicted nature" sort of way, but is at least less scatological than the other metaphor that comes to mind, one septic tank backing up into another:

Away from the headlines, however, the group is facing other major challenges, including one from a far different source: the [Una]ffordable Care Act, which it avidly supports.
Evidently unaware that it was helping to spawn an even deadlier, more bloodthirsty predator than itself.
Many formerly uninsured women who once depended on Planned Parenthood for low-cost access to birth control, abortions and [more abortions] have gotten coverage under Barack Obama's healthcare law, making them less reliant on the organization's seven hundred [butcher shops].
In many states, Planned Parenthood is losing clients as newly insured patients turn to "medical providers" included in their health plan's networks [over First Amendment religious liberties objections], according to data provided to Reuters and interviews with more than two dozen of its affiliates.
"Some people relied on us because they were uninsured prior to the [Una]ffordable Care Act. Now they can go anywhere for "care," and some of them have been," said Lori Carpentier, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan, which expects to "treat" 58,000 patients in 2015, down about 15% from the 68,000 it treated in fiscal 2012, before major parts of the law went into effect.
I suppose one could look at this as a sort of public sector "trust-busting," since O-Care is breaking Planned Parenthood's fetuscide monopoly. But given that PP can count on as much public funding as they need from terrified congressional Republicans incapable of grasping that the purpose of passing legislation extends to objectives beyond obtaining the signature of an enemy president who will never supply it, that analogy falls flat.
It says something about the state of the current age when the only pie - a one-time capitalist metaphor - that is growing is the one that is entirely state-owned.
The predators', that is. After all, why should they eat each other when there are so many hydrophobic elephants in the water?
