Finally, Some Honesty @ The U.N.

by JASmius

The U.N. General Assembly hates Israel, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on behalf of Israel, hates the U.N. General Assembly right back.  Good, old fashioned, honest mutual loathing.  No bush-beating, no spinning, no coy disguises.  That's what this forty-five second glare-down put on full, sizzling display.

I found it enormously refreshing.

Given the nuclear holocaust that's coming in the Middle East as a direct, intentional result of Barack Obama's surrender to the Iranian mullahgarchy, it barely even qualifies as pyrrhic victory.  But at least everybody outside the West knows where things really stand.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paused his speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday for forty-five seconds to protest what he called the "utter silence" from most of the world on the Iran's threats to the destruction of his nation.

"Seventy years after the murder of 6 million Jews, Iran's rulers promise to destroy my country, murder my people; and the response from this body — the response from nearly every one of the governments represented here — has been absolutely nothing," Netanyahu said. "Utter silence. Deafening silence."

At that point, he paused for forty-five seconds and stared around the room.

"Perhaps you can now understand why Israel is not joining you in celebrating this deal," he said when he resumed. "If Iran's rulers were working to destroy your countries, perhaps you'd be less enthusiastic about the deal."

If you're looking for a true twenty-first century Winston Churchill, the voice of sanity and reason shouting from the wilderness to an unheeding world spiraling towards war and self-destruction, you need look no further.

Pity Bibi won't be on the winning side, this time.
