NFL Week 12 Predictions

by JASmius

LAST WEEK STRAIGHT UP: 9-5
LAST WEEK vs. SPREAD: 13-1

SEASON STRAIGHT UP: 101-59
SEASON vs. SPREAD: 86-74

No, last week's vs. spread number is not a misprint.  Imagine my own astonishment.  Not to mention my complete lack of surprise when it plummets to 1-15 this week, more than likely.

Anyway, this week's tale of the tape for the Steelers-Seahawks string-playing-out tilt at the Clink today:

TOTAL OFFENSE: Steelers #6, Seahawks #9
RUSHING OFFENSE: Seahawks #1, Steelers #6
PASSING OFFENSE: Steelers #13, Seahawks #26

TOTAL DEFENSE: Seahawks #2, Steelers #23
RUSHING DEFENSE: Steelers #6, Seahawks #10
PASSING DEFENSE: Seahawks #2, Steelers #28

Translations: We can't run on Pittsburgh, and with Russell Wilson still running for his life every week behind the worst offensive line in galactic history, he's going to have to hit some big passing plays on the run out of the pocket for the 'hawks to put any serious points on the board.

Meanwhile, DeAngelo Williams will run long and free, providing plenty of time for elite quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to sit back in the pocket and pick the Legion of Boom apart, especially in the fourth quarter.

This just in: Seattle can't beat teams with elite quarterbacks.

I'm a system prognosticator, the numbers below say what they say, and I do pretty well with that system, as you can see above.  But disregard my pick below for our game.  We're going to lose.  Again.

Straight up picks indicated by asterisk (*); picks against the spread in parentheses (x).  And no, don't bet the farm on these picks; they're just for my amusement and your aggravation.  Or vice versa.  We'll see how it turns out, now, won't we?
