The ISIS Laugh Track

by JASmius

I wouldn't call the Daily Beast's Michael Weiss angry in this post-"historic Obama speech" analysis last night so much as exasperated.  You can tell he's a card-carrying Obamamedian by the lone part of his rant that ran off the rails (where he applauded O for inserting a distinction between ISIS and Islam that does not, in fact, exist), but it's like he retains enough of a connection with reality that he, at least, has lost patience with King Hussein's stubborn delusionalism and insistence that the country remain in his Land Of Make-Believe until we're all dead:

Personally, I don't think ISIS will laugh at that speech, because I don't think ISIS is paying attention to anything Barack Obama says or does, just like Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim jong-Il, or any of our other enemies.  That always was the objective of the Obama Doctrine, after all: to remove America from the world stage as even a minor power and render the U.S. irrelevant to world events.  POTUS's stupendous ego will never allow him to realize that that policy has done the same to him as well, which is why he delivers speeches like the one he farted out last night that make him sound so unhinged from the, well, terrifying reality he himself has created.

The other new development that only reinforces this frightening disconnect is that the White House commissioned a "State of the ISIS War" report that, with astonishing candor, tells the truth that he has so herculeanly attempted to suppress over the past fifteen months:

A new U.S. intelligence report on ISIS, commissioned by the White House, predicts that the self-proclaimed Islamic State will spread worldwide and grow in numbers, unless it suffers a significant loss of territory on the battlefield in Iraq and Syria, U.S. officials told the Daily Beast.

The report stands in stark contrast to earlier White House assurances that ISIS had been “contained” in Iraq and Syria. And it is already spurring changes in how the U.S. grapples with ISIS, these officials said.

In a pig's eye.  That wouldn't fit the "ISIS is a contained jayvee team" Narrative.

It’s also a tacit admission that coalition efforts so far — dropping thousands of bombs and deploying 3,500 U.S. troops as well as other coalition trainers — have been outpaced by ISIS’s ability to expand and attract new followers, even as the yearlong [phony, crumbling] coalition air campaign has helped local forces drive ISIS out of parts of Iraq and Syria.

Clearly even that has not happened.  But what else can one expect from "fighting" twelve percent of a war and calling it all-out?  And the worst part for the White House is that the mask has been torn off, their "sitzkrieg" exposed as just another Obama fraud, and their boss will not and cannot accept it.  He is incapable of not seeing himself as an infallible demideity with the power to bend reality to his will and extremist ideology by simply going forth and delivering yet another tiresome, "historic" lecture.

Strip away all the hype from Barack Obama and you get a mulatto Sheldon Cooper.  Except that Shellie is actually funny, and only ISIS will guffaw at the grisly results of San Bernardino and all the jihadist attacks to come.

UPDATE: Boy, that speech was effective, wasn't it?:

For the first time in CNN/ORC polling, a majority of Americans (53%) say the U.S. should send ground troops to Iraq or Syria to fight ISIS. At the same time, six-in-ten disapprove of the President’s handling of terrorism and 68% say America’s military response to the terrorist group thus far has not been aggressive enough....

Majorities across party lines feel the U.S. military response to ISIS hasn’t been aggressive enough, including 52% of Democrats, 66% of independents and 90% of Republicans.

Not so difficult to believe that last night's tantrum will make these numbers even worse, is it?

Didn't this guy claim to be a "non-ideological progamtist" who was only interested in doing "what works" eight years ago?  Well, his ISIS non-strategy isn't working, and We the People are calling him BS on it.

While we're still alive, anyway.
