Obama Gun Control Executive Orders Just The Beginning

by JASmius

Try four thousand of them, in various forms ranging from EOs to Executive "memoranda" to bureaucratic regulations to tips of his royal putter, not all of which are as effronterous as the gun-grabbing ones but all of them legislative in nature, and therefore flatly unconstitutional:

Nearly four thousand regulations are squirming their way through the federal bureaucracy in the last [?] year of Barack Obama’s presidency — many costing industry more than $100 million — in a mad dash by the White House to push through government actions affecting everything from furnaces to gun sales to Guantanamo. …

Much of this work will be carried out in the coming months by career bureaucrats working in the bowels of federal agencies, but the cumulative effect adds up to something larger: A final-year sprint by a president intent on [illegally] using executive power to [control] the lives of American workers and consumers — in many instances over loud objections from the businesses that will have to pay for it.

Which is the chief symptom of their illegality.

The work must be done swiftly in most cases because any regulation finalized after May 17th or thereabouts risks being blocked by Congress.

Oh, yeah, that's right - Congress can vote on a particular regulation within sixty days, and if they vote it down, that bill will go to.....Barack Obama for his veto, Congress will fail to override it, and that will be that.  Sounds a lot like his "heads I win, tails you lose" nuclear "deal" with the mullahs, doesn't it?  And does anybody think that Congress is going to spend the next four and a half months doing nothing but voting down all four thousand of these regs and orders and memoranda when Obama would veto every last such bill?  Neither do I.  It's classic Cloward-Piven strategy all over again - don't do it once, flood the zone.  Overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers.  That's the old Warsaw Pact military strategy too, come to think of it.

And, of course, at least some Tea Partiers will rippingly eviscerate Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell for not wasting their time "Fight!  Fight!  Fight!"ing  this regulatory blitzkrieg and pursuing "RINO" priorities like putting the budget process back in regular order so as to avoid any more omnibus train wrecks instead.  The squishes.

The way to reverse all of this despotic garbage is, of course, to take back the White House next November.  Which means stopping Donald Trump at all costs, and ensuring that, as the last man standing, Ted Cruz makes it to the promised land.  And if President Cruz can't get that job done, then the Old American Republic well and truly is unreviveable.
