"Veterans For Trump" Leader Part Of Jailed Bundy Gang

by JASmius

Behold, my friends, the intersection of two royal Charlie-Foxtrots that just gives me a bigger headache:

Fourteen more people have been charged in connection with a high-profile 2014 standoff over cattle grazing rights between armed protesters and federal agents at the Nevada ranch of Cliven Bundy, federal prosecutors said on Thursday.

One of the newly-charged defendants, New Hampshire resident and former U.S. Marine Jerry DeLemus, co-chairman of Veterans for Trump, a group that backs the Republican presidential front-runner.

DeLemus made headlines in January when he traveled to remote eastern Oregon to meet with protesters who occupied the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. DeLemus said at the time he was acting on his own and not as a representative of the Trump campaign. [emphases added]

That, of course, is not how politics works.  You don't get to take off one "hat" and put on another.  There is no "six" - or any - "degrees of separation".  If you do something stupid, you embarrass your candidate.  Period.  Ipso facto, when DeLemus took the role of co-chairman "Veterans For Trump," he should have abstained from any further association with the Bundys.  Period.  Just as the Bundys should have re-thought that stupid-ass "occupation" stunt and let discretion be the better part of valor.

And, frankly, "Veterans For Trump" should have done the same regarding a candidate who really doesn't give a flying frak about veterans, but for whom they are simply a disposable means to the end of the GOP nomination, after which they will be dead to him.

I guess that makes Jerry DeLemus twice the fool.

Care to bet on the level of effort Trump will devote to winning his freedom?  It's a losing one.
