ISIS and Islamism may be wavering in parts of Syria and Iraq, but the fear is alive and well in Western Civilization.  In Rio de Janeiro, where the Summer Olympics are being held, fears of Islamic terror attacks are on the rise thanks to a group in South America who pledges allegiance to ISIS.

The alert comes less than three weeks before the 2016 Olympic Games are set to begin in Rio de Janeiro on August 5.  Brazilian soldiers have been activated, and are now conducting counter-terrorism drills.  France was last week was informed that a planned terror attack against its team at the Games has been planned.

Brazilian officials say that security preparations for the upcoming Olympics will be reviewed and increased, bolstering security for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

In early July, the Brazilian Minister of Justice, Alexandre Moraes, said a jihadist attack in Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics was a 'possibility' but 'not a probability'.
