Rasmussen: Trump Ahead of Hillary Clinton Nationally

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As the Democrats double down on gun control, race baiting, judicial activism on the social issues, and big government control by a federal government that has no constitutional authority to do any of the things the Democrats are pushing for - and as the Democrats in the States are also pushing the envelope to a limit never seen before in American History - and as an anti-establishment wave continues to grow (even to the point of encouraging Britain to exit from the European Union), the rise of Trump continues.  His supporters believe he is the stick in the spokes of the establishment, the guy who can smash the system and stop the madness, the bigger hammer in the rock yard.

The polls have been slowly marching in the direction of Donald Trump, with even those who originally were determined not to vote for him changing their mind. . . because Hillary is something much, much worse.

According to Rasmussen, the journey to the White House for Donald Trump may even be not only a possibility, but a probability.  They have their national numbers at Trump 43%, Clinton 39% - a swing we may begin to see in other polls, soon, as well. . . as the Democrats continue to bare their fangs, and show who they really are.

Prior to this Rasmussen Poll, Trump had been trailing Hillary Clinton by five points for the prior two weeks.  While at one point a while back he had gained the lead for a little while, for the most part Clinton has been leading.  However, that was before Donald Trump became the presumptive nominee. . . before a number of Cruz and Kasich supporters decided it was prudent to support Trump, and before a number of Bernie Sanders supporters decided Trump is better than the evil of Hillary Clinton.

This is Trump’s highest level of support in Rasmussen Reports’ matchups with Clinton since last October. While the pollsters are wondering if this is just Trump having a good week, I believe that as the smoke settles and everyone realizes that it's down to two candidates, the unlikability of Hillary Clinton far exceeds any unlikability regarding Trump. . . except when it comes to those sheep who hate him because they think everything republican is racist and evil - because they've been told so by the Democrats.

We are also seeing Republicans begin to finally truly coalesce around Trump.  Rasmussen reports he now earns 75% support among his fellow Republicans, and has picked up 14% of the Democratic vote.

In the end, the only poll that truly matters occurs in November, when the voters go to the polls, and the Electoral College does its thing.  Right now, it's looking close. . . but we'll see what happens as the Democrats continue to act suicidal in their pursuit of liberal left policies.
