The mainstream media practices selective reporting in order to support their leftist narrative, and the Democrat Party's ideological strategy. Therefore, every mass shooting is reported. . . except the ones averted by a good guy with a gun. According to a researcher last year, at least 760,000 incidents where a gun is used successfully in a defensive manner occur every year. . . but you won't hear about any of those incidents in the mainstream media.
Recently, such a situation where a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun took place in South Carolina.
According to the Conservative Tribune, while the chatter was endlessly flooding the media about Orlando, a verbal confrontation at a night club in South Carolina escalated, and a man began firing at random into a crowd of patrons, hitting three people. One of the men who was shot at, however, had a concealed carry license. He fired back, wounding the shooter in the leg and stopping his rampage.
Thirty-two year old Jody Ray Thompson has been charged with four counts of attempted murder. The good guy with a gun will not be charged, as he was acting in self-defense.
Of those shot, only one was seriously injured.
According to Bearing Arms, Thompson had a criminal record dating back to 2003 and should not have legally had a gun based on the current laws in place. . . but gun control and background checks didn’t keep this criminal from arming himself.
The current gun control push by the liberal left would have made it so that the good guy with a gun would not have been able to be armed. . . which means Thompson would have been able to kill many people like Mateen did in Orlando. . . because all of his potential victims (if the liberal democrats have their way) would have been defenseless.

If one of the victims in Orlando had been armed we would never have known who Omar Mateen was. He would be just a statistic, a dead shooter the media would refuse to report on, surrounded by a roomful of living nightclub patrons.
