Terrorism at Starbucks in New Mexico

By Douglas V. Gibbs

According to CNN, the FBI is investigating an incident of vandalism, along with the placement of explosive devices at 3 Albuquerque Starbucks locations.  One person, at this point, is in custody.

The suspicious devices were placed at the stores early Friday. One went off and caused minimal damage.  The stores were closed, and there were no injuries.

While the person in custody has not been named, and no motive have been given, because of the nature of the devices, it should be considered that the devices are a part of an Islamic terrorist attack.  The very fact that the person in custody has not been described by the mainstream media tells me, to take a lesson from a discussion I had with nationally syndicated radio host Larry Elder, that the suspect is either a person of color, or Muslim.

Two federal agencies are involved in the investigation (FBI & Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives).  The local Albuquerque police and local fire departments are also investigating.

A statement by Starbucks stated that the company is working closely with investigating authorities, and that they are "...relieved that the stores were closed at the time of the incidents, and there are no reports of any injuries."
