Hypocrisy: Pelosi Attacks Press with No Backlash

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Democrats and members of the mainstream media are hypocrites.  They've been all over Trump for criticizing the media, but then Nancy Pelosi, the lead Democrat in the House of Representatives from the district in San Francisco launched her own attack against the press, but the attack provoked little outrage from reporters.

The House minority leader accused the press of acting as an accomplice in Russia's rumored, but still not proven, undermining of the 2016 presidential election.

"I do think, with all due respect in the world for the press, that the press could have done a better job [highlighting Russia's alleged meddling in the election]," Pelosi told CNN's Jake Tapper.

Hackers, allegedly Russian, got into the email accounts of Democratic National Committee staffers and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, and WikiLeaks published the hacked information during the presidential election.

Pelosi said that journalists were wrong to report on the content of the "stolen emails," which is like complaining there is video in a store showing the identity of a burglar, and the contents of that video should not be revealed if it shows criminal activity.

"[I]nstead of printing every email that came out, and saying this comes to you from Vladimir Putin, they were, hah, hah, hah, John Podesta said this or that," the House minority leader griped this weekend.

Reporting on the leaked emails was worse than just wasted time, Pelosi continued. It actually benefited Russia's attempts to interfere in the election, meaning reporters acted as accomplices, she added.

Never mind Hillary Clinton's, and the Democrat Party's, atrocious record, and failed policies.  Never mind the Clinton's, Obama's, and Democrat Party's illegal activities.  She's complaining because the evidence showing all of that was ill-gotten.
