Georgia Congressional District 6 Special Election Headed to Run-Off Election in June

Even if Jon Ossoff had received all of the votes for Democrats, and Independents, in today's special election, he would have fallen short of the 50% required to win Tom Price's vacated House of Representatives seat.  Now, since no candidate received a majority of the vote, there will be a run-off election on June 20 between Ossoff and Karen Handel.  Karen Handel, the top Republican Party candidate in the special election, earned the second spot, and is expected, if she can unify all of the GOP voters in June, to win Price's seat, and keep the seat in the Republican Party.  Handel was Georgia's Secretary of State from 2007 to 2010.
