Comey's Replacement Could Be...

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Now that FBI Director James Comey has been fired, what next?

The Trump White House has a list, already, filled with interesting candidates.  So, while the Democrats are screaming about the firing of Comey, of whom they blame for Hillary's loss, the GOP needs to move forward and put someone in Comey's place.

According to Fox News, the short list is as follows:

◆ Ray Kelly, the former and longest-serving New York City police commissioner
◆ Mike Rogers, former House Intelligence Committee chairman and former FBI agent
◆ Former Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher
◆ Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.
◆ Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas
◆ Paul Abbate, executive assistant director for the Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch
◆ Former New York prosecutor Mike Garcia
◆ Mayor of Colorado Springs John Suthers
◆ Former federal appellate court Judge Michael Luttig, now executive vice president of Boeing
◆ Larry Thompson, former deputy attorney general under President George W. Bush
◆ Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe

McCabe is the last guy on my list.  He's a globalist and Democrat crony.  Top of the list is Gowdy and Cornyn.  The problem with them is that it would create another special election scenario to fill their vacated congressional seat, a situation the Democrats will try to rally around.

Regardless of who it is, as with any nomination, the pick will have to be ratified by the U.S. Senate, opening a battle with Democrats that the media will eat up.
