Explosions at Florida Mall

By Douglas V. Gibbs
Two explosions rocked a shopping mall in Florida, Sunday Night.  The two "improvised explosive devices" (IEDs) created a structure fire at the Eagle Ridge Mall in Lake Wales, which billowed smoke down the corridor located near the mall entrance of JC Penney.

The devices that set off the explosions were located, and identified as pipe bomb type devices.  A backpack was located in the same corridor with other improvised explosive device materials in it.

There were no injuries, but the building did sustain damage from the blasts.  According to witness testimony to law enforcement authorities, the person of interest is described as a middle-aged white male, heavy build, wearing a gray shirt and gray hat.
